Liturgical Ministries Information
Liturgical Ministries

Presiders: We are blessed with many priests who preside for our Eucharistic celebrations, including many members of the Franciscans of the St. John the Baptist province. If you are interested in a vocation to the priesthood, please speak with one of our priests.

Deacons: We are grateful for the service of our deacons in our community and at liturgy. Deacons minister during the liturgy as ministers of the Gospel and of the Eucharist. If you are interested in a vocation as a deacon, please speak with one of our deacons.

Mass Coordinators: Coordinators help organize the liturgical ministers and items needed for liturgy in advance of our celebrations.

Ministers of Holy Communion: Assist with the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass and help bring Communion to the sick and homebound during the week. Participants in this ministry must be fully initiated (i.e. baptized, confirmed, and receiving Communion) and in good standing with the Catholic Church. If you have questions about these qualifications, please contact a member of the parish staff. Persons on staff are anxious to help you complete initiation and/or restore your standing in the Church.

Sacristans: Care for the materials we use during liturgies, and help prepare items needed for liturgy.

Ushers & Greeters: Greet those coming to worship with us at Liturgies, help seat the assembly, take up the collection, care for the immediate needs of the people, help with the flow of the Communion procession and distribute bulletins and handouts at the doors as the assembly leaves. The welcome they extend serves as a warm invitation to all worshippers.

Lectors: Proclaim the Word of God, and read the call to worship, petitions, announcements, and other texts at liturgy.

Servers: Servers assist the presider and deacon during Mass. Any adult, teen or youth (4th grade or older) may be a server. Training will be provided.
